Stevenson built a timber-framed house for us in Painswick, between May and December 2019. Terry Stevenson project-managed the build from start to finish. The team who worked on our house, both in-house and contractors, over 90 people in all, were excellent and arrived on site when we expected and did a good job on all aspects of the build. We had a tight timeframe to be in the house for Christmas and Terry and his team ensured that we were able to do this, we also had a very tight budget that they honoured. Our project was a very thorough (from the drains up) renovation of a tired and badly converted former agricultural stone building. We ran the project with a minimum of drawn design information and, being an old building, discovered many problems along the way. Stevensons were very good in working closely with us to overcome these problems and would always suggest solutions some of which made major improvement to the final scheme. We had various design thoughts (some at the last minute) and Stevensons were able to translate them into practical building terms. Their knowledge of the local supplier market was invaluable in achieving the right level of quality. We found all of Stevenson’s personnel helpful and friendly. The result is a stunning home which has met all our key objectives - warm and comfortable and successfully marrying house and garden.

Stevensons completed the build of a new single storey extension (Orangery if we’re feeling posh), new wall and bespoke gate at the front of the house and substantial garden landscaping and terracing works after winning a competitive tendering process. Pete Stevenson, who project managed the works, was brilliant throughout and worked us through the architects drawings, Building Regulations and suggested improvements and liaised with the local window suppliers and fitters to ensure a seamless integration of their works

The various teams working on the projects over the months from ground-workers, concrete plinth layers, steel erectors, brickworkers, woodworkers and other skilled tradesmen were invariably friendly, sociable, skilled, professional and always willing to help. We are delighted with the completed building works that are completely in keeping with the style of our house and are now an integral part of the our home.
